Bonhams wine department in London is delighted to present our first auction of 2025, Distinguished Vineyards: Classic Wines from Private Cellars; comprising 481 lots of rare and celebrated bottles from around the world.

Open for bidding on 3rd February at 12 noon, this exciting auction of 481 lots will close online at 30 second intervals on 17th February from 12 noon GMT// 1pm CET // 7am EST // 8pm HKT.

The sale kicks off with a remarkable collection of verticals from Château Haut-Brion, Château Mouton Rothschild & Château d'Yquem, spanning 53 vintages.

A marvellous selection of mature wines follows, encompassing incredibly rare Burgundy from Armand Rousseau & Henri Jayer, attractive Claret, Rhône & Port purchased on release and stored in an English cellar and professional storage.

Next comes a splendid collection of bottles from a private cellar, consisting of finest Burgundy, Bordeaux, Rhône & more; with highlights including a magnum of Cheval Blanc 1934, bottles from G. Roumier, Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey & Champagne from Krug.

This is followed by a carefully considered selection of top Burgundy, Rhône & Champagne from renowned Domaines, with notable lots from Comte Armand, Ghislaine Barthod, Fourrier, Jean Grivot, Hudelot-Noëllat, Roumier & Armand Rousseau as well as Henri Bonneau and Jean-Louis Chave.

The scope of the sale then broadens with a fantastic section of interesting and ready to drink wines from top producers in France, Italy, Germany, Spain, USA & South Africa.

Moving on we present an attractive selection of well cellared mature white Burgundy, Claret & Rhône, purchased on release.

An equally tempting collection from the cellar of an English Country house comes next, containing superb examples of Burgundy, Bordeaux & other rarities; with highlights including Corton Charlemagne from Bonneau du Martray, clarets from the Famed 1982 Vintage & very rare Massandra from the 1930's.

A mouth-watering selection of small lots of excellent Champagne come next, with collections of 20th and 21st Century Bordeaux following swiftly on.
Highlights here include a bottle of the famed 1928 vintage of Château Latour and a show-stopping double-magnum of Petrus 2009.

The sale rounds out with varied lots from Alsace, Germany, Italy and the New World, and finishes off with a superb selection of mature Port and interesting Madeira.

These lots have all been carefully inspected by Bonhams specialists and are lying duty paid or under bond in Bonhams storage at London City Bond, Dinton, Wiltshire.

This sale represents a wonderful opportunity to acquire an enticing variety of rare wines from across the world.
